The 2012 Drifter Red Blend is a bold California exploration of the classic GSM. Grenache plays the leading role with Syrah and Mourvèdre rounding out the blend. This wine is dark garnet in the glass with an exquisite arrangement of black licorice and forest floor undertones on the nose. Opening up on the palate are flavors of black and red currant jam tied nicely together with subtle citrus notes and a spiced berry finish that lingers on the palate for quite some time. This wine benefits from a slight decanting or air exposure through an open bottle prior to consuming or can be aged in a cellar for 7-9 years for future enjoyment.
