The 2013 Drifter Red Blend is a complex and approachable blend of Syrah and Grenache with a just a touch of Alicante Bouschet and Zinfandel. Beautiful deep ruby in the glass, the nose showcases a beautiful spice box with mint, dried herbs, vanilla and cherry cake. On the palate the cherry makes way to dark red fruit, and framboise with hints of cocoa and red velvet cake. The balanced acidity and structured tannins provide a smooth ride from start to finish that last well after the sip and do not over power one or the other.
