Our 2013 Prospect Zinfandel is 100% Estate grown and absolutely flourished in 2013. The nose opens with bright acidity with raspberries, cherries, and apple skin and evolves to showcase baking spices, cigar box and tobacco. On the palate the spices evolve into a beautiful bouquet of black tea, vanilla, and cedar with a backbone of black currant and plum. Well defined acidity as well as oak and grape tannins structure this wine for a lengthy finish.

Vineyard Notes
100% dry farmed and hand harvested from the Distant Cellars Estate. The estate vineyard is located within the Fiddletown AVA and sits at 1920 feet above sea level. The soils are well drained, reddish gravel loam. We believe the planting was done between 1996-1998 on rootstock from the 1940s and the vines are head pruned and arranged in North to South rows.

We've been enjoying this wine for probably 2 years or so. We take notes after tasting, and the notes I found were "amazingly well balanced, such a delight to drink, wonderful oak" ... like that. So, when we visited the winery yesterday, we were thrilled that Steve had another case available. Thank you so much for this wonderful Zin !!!
